Just spent the last couple days putting all my vids back on my desktop machine. The HD everything was on crashed - as in stopped working altogether wth nary a warning. Luckily my machine has multiple HDs but naturally, the one that failed was the one that wasn't backed up.

Got the UFO DVDs done yesterday.  Smiley

A three hundered dollar picture tube will protect a ten cent fuse by blowing first. Wink

I'm currently in Richmond, Virginia getting ready for a bubble bath to wipe out the long drive today from Charleston, SC.  Tomorrow we'll be touring the battlefields in the area.  Wish us luck!  Smiley

One of the most beautiful sounds in the universe is the sound of a man and woman singing a duet. Here are a few of my favorites.

The Yellow Rose of Texas - Johnny Lee & Lane Brody
Meet Me in Montana - Dan Seals & Marie Osmond
The Heart Won't Lie - Vince Gil & Reba McEntire
Whiskey Lullaby - Brad Paisley & Alison Kraus
Fly Away - John Denver & Olivia Newton John

(Yes, I like country.) The last one is probably my very favorite. Wink Anyone else? :Smiley

I need to add one more to this list, Who says you can't go home - Jon Bon Jovi & Jennifer Nettles. Great song! Smiley Smiley

I picked up a couple more albums for my I-Pod this week. Old stuff but good, The Best of Bread & History America's Greatest Hits.

Two weeks ago, it was the soundtrack from Crimson Tide. I have a wide taste in music. Wink

I'm relaxing back home in Columbia after a wild weekend in Nauvoo for the Pumpkin Walk and Halloween.  (They take Halloween very seriously in Nauvoo.  Their Pumpkin Walk has even been featured in Country Living magazine!)  My daughter made medieval gowns for the girls for Trick or Treat, and I made them fur cloaks to wear over them to stay warm.  They looked gorgeous!  The Pumpkin Walk had over 400 carved pumpkins this year (a new record, I think!), and I got my fortune told by two different fortunetellers.  It was a great weekend, and I so enjoyed seeing all my friends again.

What did you guys do for Halloween this year?  Smiley

Since my fickle muse went into hiding last month, I've been spending quite a bit of time with my ham radio hobby. I've made contact with 89 countries and have 61 confirmed.

Hopefully, she'll come out of hiding soon. "Hey muse! Get back here. You've got stories to finish!" Grin

Yours is probably hanging out with mine again, trying to escape the dreary weather. My coding muse, however is having a great time 'Oh, we have to do this, and that needs to get finished, and oh oh oh, I just thought of a great mod for YaBB Next and...'

Came home from visiting the boy child (who was just getting over a nasty cold) - with, you guessed it, a cold straight from hell. Been sick as a proverbial dog for the past 5 days.

AARRGH!  Angry

That cold segued into allergies, but at least my nose has (mostly) stopped running. The front patio is nearly done. With any luck I'll remember to post a photo.

The back garden is a jungle - that's next week's top thing to do.

I'd invite everybody over for a pool party for the 4th but you're all too far away.

Gracie-girl made it through the 4th despite the illegal fireworks next door. (Still picking debris out of the back garden!)

Hope everybody else had a good 4th. Smiley

Had an awesome 4th!  Smiley
Missouri takes its fireworks seriously.  We went down to the country club where we were treated to a fantastic display.  (Not that we were at the country club,  mind you.  We were across the street in the city park with the rest of the riffraff while the country club set had appetizers and drinks on the veranda of the clubhouse.  The class system is alive and well in the South!  Tongue

So happy to be nearly done unpacking at our new home!  Of course, this house has even less room than our old one, so I'm still getting rid of stuff.  But to me, that's not really a bad thing.  It helps me decide what I really want and what I can do without.  Funny how everything I keep has personal meaning to me!  Cool

I thought I'd share this link with you all, since it pertains to my UFO writing.  My muse is back after a looong vacation, so I did one of my 365 Dresses about her.  Here is a glimpse of her hard at work:

Also of note to fans of my UFO stories is yesterday's dress.  I did a sketch of the dress Cait Kerr wore on her first date with the commander.  You can see it here:
