Some of you non-Brits may know there's a wedding in London next week that is attracting a bit of attention. You've probably seen this YouTube clip of the wedding rehearsal?

Pssst. Normandie? I went and looked at that, not noticing the- uh-details on it. I actually thought it-uh-was-r............e.............a.......l at first

I'm surprised Denise isn't following the news on The Wedding. Probably too busy writing.  Smiley

I for one really appreciated Wills giving her Diana's ring. Kate's gorgeous  Cry

Naw!  I'm writing, but not too busy with that.  It's more getting ready for the fashion show that's got my main attention this month.  However, I still wouldn't get caught up in a wedding in England (or anywhere for that matter) that wasn't my own or a family member's.  It's just not my cup of tea!

I hoped that someone would be taken by surprise!  Cool Some of the characters work better than others - Harry is brilliant and so are Zara and Princess Anne. The Archbishop of Canterbury was good too.

There are two ways of looking at the ring thing - that it was lovely for William to mark his love for his fiancée by giving her his beloved mother's ring - or that giving her a ring that ultimately marked so much misery and failure was a bit unfortunate. I'm rather of the second opinion though suspect that Wills and Kate are not.  Wink

I'm not that interested in the wedding either - just rather difficult to avoid coverage at the moment - but I will definitely enjoy seeing the dress and looking at the other fashions.

Edited to add:
I'm guessing most people know where the inspiration for the T-Mobile ad came from?

Weddings are my specialty here with a Temple in town.  My studio handles many every year.  Cool

One of the most beautiful sounds in the universe is the sound of a man and woman singing a duet. Here are a few of my favorites.

The Yellow Rose of Texas - Johnny Lee & Lane Brody
Meet Me in Montana - Dan Seals & Marie Osmond
The Heart Won't Lie - Vince Gil & Reba McEntire
Whiskey Lullaby - Brad Paisley & Alison Kraus
Fly Away - John Denver & Olivia Newton John

(Yes, I like country.) The last one is probably my very favorite. Wink Anyone else? :Smiley

I'm not into vocals so much but my favorite has to be Lady of Dreams by Kitaro and Jon Anderson. The imagery is SO beautiful. (It's on the Dream album.)

And then there's Josh Groban's Awake album - So She Dances is stunning, and To Where You Are on the Josh Groban album - people tear up on that one. I've written it into a couple of funerals.

And then there's Enya. Anything by Enya. Amaratine is marvelous for weddings.

Matt,
Big John Denver fan here.  I love Fly Away.  I'm also a huge country fan and that is also what I sing.  I love Brad Paisley too, Who Needs Pictures is a favourite of mine as is He Didn't Have To Be.

Deb,
I'm also a big fan of Kitaro too, isn't his music amazing.  One of my friends years ago got me onto him and I just love it.

What many people don't realize is that in the duet Fly Away the part that Olivia Newton John sang was much more difficult than John Denver's, especially live. Her timing had to be perfect. Not to mention having the ability to hit those high notes. It's a hauntingly beautiful song. Smiley

Deb, I'm not familiar with the ones that you mentioned, I'm going to have to expand my musical horizons here.  Wink

Enya and Kitaro are considered New Age and you can find most of their stuff used. According to Itunes, Josh Groban is Classical or Easy Listening. Kitaro does mostly instrumental but his collaborations with Jon Anderson are REALLY GOOD.

Took a break from UFO stuff today to read the TNG novel Before Dishonor by Peter David. An excellent read if you enjoy Trek. Smiley

The Moonbase lounge is being filled with the strains of the music from the movie Crimson Tide. (Hans Zimmer) I downloaded it this weekend, an awesome score! Smiley

It would make good Skydiver music! Wink
