Bint's cool.  Is it like twit?

Not really. It's Arabic for woman / girl / daughter and British soldiers who served in the Middle East around WWII adopted the word so it was absorbed into the English language. In the process, it acquired a rather derogatory undertone, more so in recent times. After the war - in the 60s and 70s I guess, it became pretty interchangeable with "bird" but still, it's not much used now. Possibly because of its Arabic origins.

That's how it started out and you're right about it acquiring the derogatory tone.  In my part of the world it is still derogatory, meaning twit, fool, idiot.  Unfortunately Huh

What a spoilt brat she was!  It was her own fault for not keeping her kid out of the road.  "Ed, do something!"

"Sure, Mary.  I'll bring you up on charges of criminal negligence concerning our son!"  Cool

Had that incident happened here in the states, today, that is exactly what would have happened. Shocked

Back to the story itself, I want to say that I really liked the psychological elements of the last chapter.  It's been really good in that area all along, but the bonding between Straker and Peter was very sweet and special.  Good job!  Cool

I'm enjoying Rabbit's Paw... although, with five rabbits dependent on me for their dandelions, I'm a bit worried about the Paw.

No rabbits were or will be injured in this story. Toy plushie ones are all over my bed and couch at the moment. As well as porcelain ones on my bookcase  Wink

Um, please tell my why Ed is surprised to meet an American in California?

Even if her name is Turner.

Well, if I named a character Kaiser, you could probably bet there was no special significance. But this is Amelia: Kaiser = Caesar = King.

Bet his first name was Arthur. Wink

He isn't. He was just trying to see if she might be related to Turner from the Timelash ep, wanted to see if she'd react. He suspects that the crystal may be the rock from the Mindbender ep. He thinks the aliens are up to something again. (Which they usually are)
As for Kaiser  Lips Sealed

To quote a well-known comedy show from the 70's:
"Veddy interestink!" (I need a little Nazi smiley here!)  Wink

This is developing into a very convoluted mystery, and I can't wait to see how it all turns out!  Grin

Cliffhanger! I love it. One minor quibble, The Vomit Comet is any one of the NASA aircraft used to simulate zero gravity. They used a C131 at one time.

The centriifuge doesn't have a nickname that I could find.

You did a great job of building the tension in this chapter. Smiley

Can't wait for the end.
