A Matter of Responsibility FDK

My take on The Responsibility Seat. The two biggest problems I see were why did Ed take this on himself and what was he thinking that allowed him to become emotionally involved? After reviewing the episode today, I do think that he had become emotionally involved. My story gives possible answers to those two questions. Smiley

Even Ed Straker can make mistakes, he is human, it makes him a living breathing person. And as Ginny tells it, no one will think less of him because of it. Wink

I addressed the Jo Fraser issue in my Conover Saga.  She turned out to be a far cooler woman than the episode showed her, but that's how I remembered her from watching the show as a tween.  When I saw the episode as an adult, I was so surprised!  I didn't like her at all!  She was just so grasping!

Not a bad version of events, Matt.  It could use a better title.  Wink

I just made it official. It's now my March Sci-Fi Forever Challenge story. Wink I started this around mid day working on it as time permitted. It was a story that demanded to be written. Smiley

In life we are all entitlied to one really incredibly stupid screwup. Paul Foster was Ginny's, Jo Frasier was Ed's. But they both managed to walk through the fire unscathed. :Smiley

Yea!  Thanks, Matt!  I still haven't done mine.  Actually, I'm thinking that my monster story is goiing to be dealing a lot with the weather, so it may qualify.  But I haven't gotten that far yet, so I can't be sure.  :Smiley

I think this title works better as well, it ties in well to the subject matter. I'll post my thoughts on the story later once I get them down. Alison once said that we spark off each other, and that is so true. After reading Fallen Heroes I find myself seeing Ed and Ginny in a new light. So by inspiring you to write your take, that in turn has inspired me to allow them some more playfulness. The dynamic just works so well!

And it's marvelous to be able to see episodes cast in a new light. To me, this is one of the functions of fan-fiction - exploring the places that need explanations and expanding.
