Sheesh, Matt!  You're a lot like me.  I too tend to take the 'hide & watch' approach when it comes to plot areas that I can't figure out at first.  But I'll explain eventually.  Never fear!

Amelia, I can't tell you how weird it feels calling him by another name!  But it has its fun moments too.  I'm almost going to be sorry to give him his own name back.  :Smiley

I don't think I've ever given him another name, it seems sacrilegious.  Shocked Smiley              Wink

Oh, man!  The problem with an imagination like mine is that once I can visualise it, I want one for myself! And boy, do I!  Smiley

Yeah, me too.

Chapter 4: I'm intrigued by the director's interest in Gar (Ed). You have mentioned it a couple of times in the story. I'm thinking a couple of possiblites here, but I'm going to watch and wait.  Wink

I'll let you know if I was right. Smiley

Now I'm really scratching my head. I was glad to see Ed remember his name. Wink

I hope Alec survived, and Ed just doesn't remember it. Shocked

Chapter 6 and the epilogue will go up in the morning, pending my beta tester's approval.  Watch for them!

The truth is out there.  Wink

Ah ha! I was right! (My second thought) I didn't mention it as I thought Ed had seen the night sky. Wink

Great story! Smiley

It's all your fault for writing an essay on Timelash.  It got me thinking. . . and that's never a good thing!  Wink  It always seemed to me that they wasted their opportunity with that whole time freeze thing.  It would have been so much simpler if they just took out the majority of the command team while they could, then came in with force to take over.  So that's what I had them set out to do!  Smiley

Glad you liked my Ford.  He was there to give the reader a broad hint that SHADO still existed.  And to surprise The Man, of course.  Wink

Then I did what I set out to do. *grin* This was a different twist on the time travel/amnesia theme. Wink

Timelash was not only a thought provoking episode, it introduced a huge technological advantage for the aliens. This is why my storylines address this issue so much. It's a matter of survival.

It's also possible that the alien spacecraft in Timelash was a prototype, as you can see, I'm still mulling it over.

This was a great story and certainly an enjoyable read. Smiley

Thanks for the kind comments!  This story was the first time my beta tester refused to critique each chapter as it came along.  All she would say is: "Yes, it's good.  What happens next?"  Grin  Last night she reminded me that I had once told her that I didn't think I could write mysteries.  She says I'm doing a really good job of proving myself wrong!  Wink

Of course, even she doesn't know yet the real meaning behind his name.  But it's intriguing that she likes it.  What are your thoughts?  Inquiring minds are inquiring!  Cheesy

If you mean the name Gar Barusch for the Commander, I totally agree with the Gar part of it, Denise.  Wink
