We're having an anniversary? (clink of champagne glasses)
Department of off topic:
I'm considering having a new Ed Bishop Fans yahoo group. The more I think about what was allowed, the more I feel It's necessary. Had Ed Bishop been alive, he would have made short work of them. additionally Deborah, there's a Ed Bishop Appreciation Society on Facebook I belong to, and I don't think it was talked about anywhere.
My story is on hold for now, been trying to ground hubby, he had a rough pain day. We got approved for a credit card so a new laptop looms, but windows 8 sounds like a pain to learn.
Paolo sent me a bunch of Bishop photos, poor hubby was downloading all day Cheesy

We used the Eat this not that series of books to lose weight. I recommend Skinny Cow when you're in the mood for ice cream. However, yesterday husband brought home Ben and Jerry Boston Cream Pie flavor ice cream and Annie organic pretzels with sea salt. We were celebrating his improving health. It may be temporary but we'll make the most of it.
Slash is a character in our story, and Alec is not fond of him ... Angry    The Commander runs into his darling ex in this too. Literally running into her with the Shado car is what Alec prefers, but sadly no. Not in this story anyway.  Cheesy
So I should have five or six works coming up. No eta at the moment.
Off to go have Greek yogurt from the fridge and then  Ed and I need to see the librarian in her private office.  Shocked

Good for you, Deb! And your hubby! Trying to lose weight sucks, I'm in the same boat. At six feet and with my frame, I can handle up to about 200 lbs. When I got on the Doc's scale and tipped it to 255, I knew I had to do something before it got too far out of control. Short term plan, cut the Coke, the extra extra in the coffee, double burgers, late night snacks, i.e. Klondike Bars. I dropped 15 lbs just by doing that. My first goal is to get down to 225, i figure if I take things in steps, I won't get discouraged as easy.

Amelia, Ed, your new story idea sounds cool! Looking forward to reading it. I need to get back to my time travel story, the one I started over a year ago. I've been busy with other things, as of late. In March, I joined the Astronomical Society of Rhode Island, better known as The Skyscrapers, and I've been writing for the newsletter. http://www.theskyscrapers.org/matt-white?type=950112 Not much there yet, but I just finished an article about my life experience as an amateur astronomer. It should be published in the newsletter (and the website) next month.

Denise, now that you have your own space (isn't that so freeing) I look forward to reading some more of your work. I trust you are settled nicely in your new place.

June is always a busy time of year for me. The third weekend is when the ARRL Field Day is held and our informal radio group take that event very seriously. (We start planning for next year the week after the event.) A friend of mine once called it "organized insanity" a term that fits quite well.

Matt

Hubby has lost nearly a 100 pounds and is holding his weight down. I have at least 30 more to go, but it's slower going for women. Even the dog has lost weight, which is good since the vet won't do the knee surgery she needs unless she's at optimum weight.

Looking forward to reading your newest work when you're ready.  Smiley

So we create a character that has a grudge against Straker, interesting parallel plot going that gives insight into Straker, and in comes Alec Freeman and ruins everything. Amelia tried to explain the phenomenon to me about characters that do this, and now it happened to me. Damn Aussie. Okay so he does it to protect Straker, but Damn.
I've got 17 pages handwritten of this thing so far. Amelia is navigating but I'm flying the plane.
Mr. Write Rat aka Ed.
This is our The Mouth of Death story btw.

We're working on stabilizing our mental and physical health issues so we can start work on our stories again. (plus I'm planning one of my Bishop tributes, but it may just be simple unless things fall into place. ).   Smiley
My hubby was suggesting we open one UFO story with a graphic torture scene and even include slash.
However, remember he and I like twists.  CoolSmiley

That's such an accomplishment, Deborah. How ab out  hubby?
I asked the universe for a laptop easier for my husband to use.w e have a medical bill we need to pay off, and  have more minor surgery  done once we find a way to  do it, after that , we're adopting. A laptop that is.  Alec 4. All our PC's were named after Alec.

Standy by, let me check the status board...Nope, moon shuttles running on time, SID reports no sightings, Colonel Lake has on her purple blouse, Alec has a drink in his hand, all is well. Smiley

I finished a story about two weeks ago and have been sidetracked with my astronomy group.

The sun is out, it's approaching summer, the pool needs opening, the garden needs tending and I've lost enough weight that I might not have a heart attack doing all that.  Roll Eyes

Our Health lousy
Age lousy
Shakeup soon on our shelf in the library
One story being rewritten, another The Glacier Code needs finishing (a secret Straker kept from Alec is revealed in that one) more being planned
One  angst- suspense-metaphysical story being planned (neither the Commander nor his Aussie have a fun time in it)
We are the couple who came back and we have the best beta but no sock puppets.
Looks like we actually can post!

Ed (who has a collection of EKG discs and hospital bracelets now)

Thanks, Amelia and Alison for the info you each gave me concerning the origin of this plotline!  I've added the dedication to Alison to my story.  Yea!  Cheesy

Amelia,
I have a question.  Waaaay back in the Write Mice, Alison wrote a story called "Herod", I think it was where the aliens used Straker's DNA to create children.  Is that the right story?  I only remember that we talked about the plotline a lot and no one else wanted to touch it.
I was rereading my "Beyond Repair" story the other day and finally realized where I got the idea for what happened to the commander -- from that plotline all those years ago!  I want to give credit where it's due, so could you check your memory (or your archived emails, if you have them) and let me know if the original idea really was Alison's or if it came from someone else and she was the only one to run with it?  I appreciate any help you can give me.   Smiley

RL has a way of getting in the way of stories. *grin* I'm glad to see you get back to that one, it's a great tale, so far!
