For May - choose a minor (even an unnamed character) and tell us their story or version of events.

Suggestions - Rutland, Jo Frazer, the divers in SubSmash, the bomb experts in Long Sleep, the captain in Destruction.

Try to limit it to 5000 words or less.

Well, unlike other places, we don't have a deadline for these.  Wink

I might have May done before April. I can't get my muse to stay focused. She's stubborn, that one! Angry Grin

Well I'm almost done with May's challenge, I should have the first draft posted tonight. It was an idea I got last week and my stubborn muse said, "Hey boy, write!" :Smiley Then she started cracking the whip. Shocked So there you have it, she does rule the roost. Grin

I absolutely loved the seacaptain in the episode DestructionKiss  Madoc played him so very well.  And he was much more likable than the other role Madoc played in the show: Rutland.  Tongue

But I don't know if I want to do a story around him, much as I liked him.  I'll have to think about this some more.  Cool

Let me think, Jane Carson, from The Dalotek Affair, Anne, from The Sound of Silence, Nina in Subsmash, Andy Conroy in Mindbender, Captain Craig, in Kill Straker Captain Bill Johnson in Identified. All sorts of good plot bunnies. Cheesy

See, the problem is that all the women who were incidental characters in the show tended to be the kind I don't identify with.  Either they're grasping b*tches like Jo or they're stupid enough to get involved with Foster.  Yuck!   Tongue

I think I need to rewatch a few episodes.  Cool

I liked Ayshea and Gay - but I also warmed to Joan. She seemed to have quite a wicked side to her character. Didn't you write a Joan story in your Conover saga, Denise?

I did, and I have to tell you, it was hard getting that girl to accept her fate!  It took way too long to marry her off to her drummer.  Wink  She just wouldn't cooperate.

The problem with using one of the Moonbase girls is that I've seen them with Straker -- and there was no spark.  Even in SubSmash, the heat was all on Nina's side (which is why the scene in the hospital was so pathetic!)  Kill the writer!  Kill the writer!  Wink

Sometimes (even in our favorites) the writer just missed it. I was surprised how well Nina and Ginny get along in my stories, they just took too each other, in fact Nina knows things about Ginny that Gay doesn't. That surprised be as they are both strong willed. (I loved having Nina prep Ginny for her meeting with Ed at the airport. Kiss) But like you, I find that the characters work best when you let them do what's natural. Wink

Now here would be a tough one, Qof P from Mary's POV. I could have some fun with that! Cheesy

Apart from the word count (41,000 and rising), this is precisely what Edge of armageddon is, telling the story of Keith Ford, the beginnings of Lew Waterman's story, Tim Redman, Catherine Frazer and the 'gentleman' who picks her up
