I've had to do quite a bit of research for this one, always fun. Wink

I just had a thought, had Bob lake lived, he might have been Ed boss. :Smiley

Now there's a plot untwist! Smiley

Um, recant means to take back. I think you mean recount.

But aside from that - great melding of history with fiction.

Cool!  Churchill!  Go, Matt!

(BTW, put a comment section up at SFF for your story, so that I can comment on it there!)  :Smiley

I forgot again? Sorry Denise, must be getting old. Grin

I fixed the wrong word, good catch Deb. Wink

I kind of like Lt. Colonel Lake, it's too bad about what happens to him. Now I have to figure out a way for Ginny to meet him one day, hmmm. :Smiley

I drive the general editors over at L&C crazy with my vocabulary - I actually have one I choose not to work with - insisted defuse should be spelled diffuse. (Um one you do to a bomb, the other is what happens if you miss on the first one.)  :Smiley
This last GE I actually gave a list of 'words you do not even ask about'. She came back with 'I don't even know what these MEAN!'  Cheesy

I run into the same trouble, Deb!  My friends are always telling me that they have to look up words I've used in the dictionary after I go home!  Seriously?!  *sigh*  It just proves that too few people read these days.  Television has robbed us of a rich and intriguing vocabulary.  Sad times we live in.  Sad

I find the same thing with people I chat with that don't do a lot of reading. They just don't know what they are missing. Undecided

Loved the war stories, Matt!  And he's thinking about Lynn having to raise Ginny alone.  That's so sad ... and so prophetic!  I love flashback stories for that very reason!  Grin

You noticed the bit about "The Man" didn't you? Wink Charlie Johnson was in Absence. He was the General who was at Hascom when Ed went to the base to use the secure communications link. It all ties together.

I love stories that are intertwined with history. Smiley

Finished! The final version is in the library. I could have made this much longer and detailed the events into the raid, but I wanted to keep it short. (The details of the raid would be from Henderson's account anyway.)

Now I can get back to my other stories, I left poor Paul(a) in a wee bit of a sticky wicket in my gender bender tale. Grin

Yes I did, and I left Ginny and Matt in the soup as well. Grin
