November and December

Well, November found everybody busy, including me. So I never did get around to posting a challenge for November.

But for December... Grin

I admit, not everyone has my penchant for destroying planets in time for the holidays (aside from Matt) but there's December's challenge. The end of the world, destruction and mayhem. Actually bringing in holiday themes will bring added points.  Wink

Apocalyptic stories can really be downers -- unless they're done right.  Got any tips for doing them right to share?

I've got one: end the story with hope for the future.  Most readers will forgive you any amount of mayhem if you leave them with some hope at the end.  Wink

Leaving some hope for the future is always a good way to leave your readers happy. Even just a smidgin of hope... Cheesy

What now? You want us to actually END the world? Or is the threat enough? You know, the save the world in the nick of time scenario ...... Smiley

Well, the ghost story I had planned for October's challenge is a post-apocalyptic story, so it should fit right in.  That is, if I get it written!  Wink
