I quite agree that if you hate yourself, you're certainly a long way from being happy. One thing they didn't mention under the heading of liking yourself was to be nice! Somehow that basic but important tool gets left out of these scenarios, and it's the most vital one to remember. If you're not nice, you'll never like yourself. And nasty people are never happy. The way I figure it - unless there's a real medical/chemical issue, misery IS optional. Even in prison camps where people were/are dying every day under horrific conditions, there were still people who recognized that what was being done to them didn't change the fact that they had a choice in how to react - become hateful, bitter, and vengeful or maintain themselves with dignity, self-worth and an appreciation of others. Mine is "We make our own hell." (In other words, if your life sucks so bad, stop complaining and change it!) But you know me, I'm proactive like that. The sky is not the limit; nor are the stars. Unfortunately, it sometimes takes people a while to realize that they are sick and tired, of being sick and tired. Sometimes you have to hit bottom before you make the changes that are needed to take control of one's life. It takes courage to change our situation, as we can become comfortable in even an unhealthy enviorment. What do you mean, we're out of coffee! WWW IP Logged
