Deb wrote; "A nice thought while it lasted."

Maybe, or, maybe a blessing in disguise. UFO was such an interesting series, way ahead of it's time on so many levels. And while seeing the world of SHADO on the big screen, with all of the wiz-bang special effects, I have to wonder whether today's movie producers would still be able to capture the essence of what made UFO work.

It's hard to believe UFO is almost 50 years old now! A rather unpleasant reminder of age for some of us.  Wink

I wonder if JJ Abrams could make a go of it?

Thoughts?

It seems the UFO Movie is truly dead - the domain is up for sale.
Oh well, it was a nice thought while it lasted. Smiley

I think they had high hopes but it looks like nothing's happened on the movie site since Gerry died.   Cry

This is so disappointing. Cry  Why do they announce productions that ultimately never seem to ever get made.  Sad

I think the only way a new reboot UFO film will ever get made is if a [powerful] successful director wants to make it such as J.J.Abrams with Star Trek. Sad

Call me crazy Wink, but I am willing to give the producers all of 2013 to complete the production of this UFO film. However, that is where I draw the line, because 2014 better be the release date in theaters. Undecided

Agree. Cry Sad, but seemingly very true. Sad

I have to agree, Deb. And maybe that's a good thing, I don't know. It would be a shame to have them make a movie that doesn't do justice to the series.

But I'm beating a dead horse here.Smiley

As so often you have it right. With movies nothing is sure until the movie actually is about to hit the theatres, and sometimes not even then  Shocked
