Hi,

anyone ever heard it mentioned in the series?

And if not - Norma?

Considering Anderson's penchant for using the actor's names (or variations) for characters when he didn't want to bother worrying about it... he probably would have named her Norma.

I, on the other hand, thought she was more a Janice Ealand than a Norma Ealand. 'Norma' just didn't scan for me.

Norma is a very date name though.. not used nowadays..  so if you were putting her in a 'now' time line, then  it reallywouldn't be used.

She is what?  28? 29?

Hmmm.... Elizabeth, Rebecca, Emily ,Emma, Sara, Katie,

Hi,

I'm going for Norma R. Ealand

Grin

Rolls off the tongue nicely.

And Edward is just as dated - still those names are coming back lately again.

Strange to think that she also played Miss Murfitt in 'the Men From the Ministry'

Hi,

I'd say somewhere between 27 and 28 midseries. I have her 26 when she starts out with SHADO.

Hi K-k.

she had a severe air, but looked quite young. Curiously there is no b-day available for Norma Ronald.

But didn't she have lovely eyes! and a fabulous smile!

I can't think of her as a Norma..( My husbands middle name is Norman... eeeuuuggghhhhhhh!)

Norma is not a name you hear today, unless it is for ladies of a certain age!

Hi,

Norma means

Thor mind, Thor courage in Gaelic and Norseman ('north man') in Germanic.

The name is considered of Scottish origin and was actually quite popular well into the mid-90ies (which makes it sort of ok for my Miss Ealand, as she would be born around that time).  Smiley
