Louise: the dragon can be built any way you want it to be, after all, it's your story. So, by all means, let the dragon have wings if they're important. I've only used the VR dragon form once and you've read that one ... and landing is not dragon's strong point. 

dragons are magical creatures, who's to say a chinese one doesn't turn up looking occidental occasionally ... on on accident ... accidently occidental ... ouch ...
