This is the second story in my Uphoria series.  I'm still researching it, so I can't guarantee how quickly I will finish it.  But it seems to want to be written now, so here we go!  Cheesy

Uphoria seems awfully familiar, like I might have read about it somewhere else. *very big grin*

I like this Denise, Ed is a much different person when he is relaxed. Do you not agree? :Smiley

Great opening  Cool - I like this universe. A good read for a far-too-hot Saturday afternoon while I eat an ice cream (well, eat the second half - Deborah's Dragon instalment got the first half).

I know you said you're still researching but as a beek(eeper) I know that honey bees aren't crazy about chrysanthemums and tulips really deliver pollen rather than nectar. Really happy bees like nectar which is what they use to make the honey. Pollen is stored too but is fed mostly to the larvae. Bees would thank you for, say, a range of herbs - rosemary, sage, lemon balm, thymes and the lavenders, for eg. Whether a sudden growth of those fits the situation, though, I don't know.

Also, just an fyi, bees are rarely seen on red flowers - because red isn't in the colour spectrum they can see. And there are plenty of other bees that you may see on flowers but they aren't necessarily honey bees and they aren't, therefore, necessarily living in a hive or producing honey.

Some links that might prompt some ideas...

Obviously, feel free to disregard the above if it doesn't suit your purposes. It is a different universe, after all.   Wink

Thanks, Normandie!  I checked it out and will change it in the story.  It just goes to show that you never know what might need researching!  Wink  I found a few flowers the bees will like, so I'll switch it in the original.  I don't usually change my drafts on the forums, because that's time-consuming.  When the final draft goes online, the changes can be seen then.  Thanks for the heads-up!  I appreciate the feedback!  Smiley

Oh?  Where else?  I stole it from ST's episode "Shore Leave."  What are you referring to?

Oh, wow!  Shocked  No, I was thinking of something much more mundane.  I've always liked the idea of a planet that gave you whatever you wanted from "Shore Leave" in ST:TOS.  And I didn't think they gave it the chance to show what it might be like to actually live in a place like that.  So I started thinking about what I would do if I lived there.  It pleased me to realize that not much of my present life would change.  What I value most would remain the same even in a place where I could have anything.  Smiley

I hoped it would be obvious who it was.  But even my beta tester wasn't sure.  Wink

Well, it wasn't obvious to me. But I can be remarkably dim.  Grin Great chapter, Denise.
