I want to finish my gender bender before I continue this, but it's started. Parts of this story are a real downer. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. What do you mean, we're out of coffee! There's really no way around it when you're talking end of the world. But if they're done well, they always end on a high note. (Along the same lines, did you ever see the Book of Eli? Totally rocking post-apocalyptic movie! I recommend it.) The sky is not the limit; nor are the stars. WWW IP Logged

This story, is a follow on to Distant Memories, my UFO/Bonanza crossover from last year. In the epiloge, a clue is given as to how this all came about. Tin star generals with delusions of grandeur. Stupid fools! There's always some idiot who thinks they should be in charge. Dumb. Totally dumb. (Not your idea, Matt! Just that type of thinking.) The sky is not the limit; nor are the stars. Technology out-distancing wisdom. Like it did in The Terminator, or the Destiny Project in The Core, or the man-made virus in The Amdromeda Strain. It's sad, but true, that there are those who would covet such technologies for thier own ends, with no regard to the concequences. Time travel, if it did exsist, could be perverted into a dreadful weapon. What do you mean, we're out of coffee! WWW IP Logged

I call for witness The End of Eternity by Asimov, where time travel was used to serve the ends of the few to the detriment of the whole. The sky is not the limit; nor are the stars. WWW IP Logged

In fairness to Deb, she made him a baddie in her story Primary Target. A great read! Chapter two is done! « Last Edit: Oct 4th, 2011 at 2:39am by Matt » What do you mean, we're out of coffee!
