Here's my August challenge story, only a few weeks late.  I'm going to have to put it into 5 parts; otherwise it would be novel length (and the thought of that gives me hives!)  Wink

Expressions of 'ooh' and 'aah' are welcomed!  Grin

Let's see, the first rule of time travel - don't do it without your own time machine?  Wink

You know, it's funny that the answer to that isn't universally known.  In fact, everyone I've spoken to about my current story has come up with a different rule.  But it's been a given for me for years.  I suppose that exposes my particular geekiness, since it tells everyone how much I read time travel stories.  :Smiley

The first rule of time travel is: don't get caught!  Wink

That was my first thought - but I thought it was too obvious. (Or maybe I program too much. For me, the first number is 0, not 1.)  :Smiley

You think that Ed would learn to stay away from those sneaky glass paperweights.  Wink

Powerful start! I can't wait to see where they end up.

Yep, it's obvious.  That's why it's a given.  I heard a wonderful dissertation on the possibilities of time travel years ago that summed up goes something like this:

Premise #1
If time travel were possible, there would be some evidence of it, such as time travelers who are found out and exposed for what they are and what they're doing.  Therefore, time travel isn't possible.

Premise #2
What if they just haven't been caught at it?

So in my book, there must be rules to time traveling.  And the number one rule has to be: don't get caught!

Oh, okay.  I actually knew a Bill Henderson once.  He was a street minister -- quite hunky!  Wink

Cool! From the looks of it, she just kicked some serious arse! Grin Not a woman to be trifled with! Wink

I agree with Deb, the Sheriff seems to know what he's about.

It sounds like Ginny didn't quite make it to 1862 this time, but maybe close to the same area. *snicker* More please. Smiley

Hey, Deb!  Thanks for making my TOC for me for this story!  I usually forget until long after the story is finished, but since you've been so good at updating things, I decided to get on the ball this time.  But you beat me to it!  Now that's service!!!!

Thanks!  Smiley
