I traveled over the Smoky Mountains in the Appalachians! It made me smile to think of Ginny as a girl running wild over those forested peaks. (I know it's just my back story for her and it has no basis in canon, but still -- I could see her there!) The sky is not the limit; nor are the stars. WWW IP Logged

The Appalachian trail has some of the most beautiful scenery in the entire world. It extends from Maine all the way to Georgia. I enjoyed writing Ginny in the mountains in Matters of the Heart and Love Never Fails. (For a few reasons.) Virginia is such a versatile character, she has so much untapped potential. I could see her growing up as a tomboy. I think the most important aspect, in writing a character, is knowing in your own mind where he/she comes from. Your version of Ginny holds up quite well to canon, the only challenge I see in her growing up in America would be explaining her Brit accent, and there are several ways you could get around that. What do you mean, we're out of coffee! WWW IP Logged

Reply #3 - Oct 3rd, 2011 at 11:23am Print Post They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. In which case I have a LOT of words to say about the mountains! I tried to put up a photo, but don't know how to make the file smaller. The sky is not the limit; nor are the stars. WWW IP Logged
