The trilogy [Mirage, Chimera, and Aurora] was excellent and made me nostalgic for dear Isaac. *sigh* The world is a lesser place without his great mind. Tiedemann did a superb job in staying within Asimov's basic style while introducing elements that The King of Sci-Fi never got the chance to explore. I'd recommend this trilogy to anyone who enjoyed reading Asimov's robot tales. The sky is not the limit; nor are the stars. WWW IP Logged

Just finished 'the sociopath next door' by Martha Stout, ph.d. It really is scary and I recommend it - good advice on how to detect and deal with that 4% of the population that causes so much trouble for the rest of us. Interesting - one clue I'd forgotten about. The 'pity play' - the "oh woe is me, my life is so terrible you should feel sorry for me and forget how horrible I am to you - it's somebody else's fault I'm a ..." Pity short-circuits the ability to accurately judge when you're being conned. Lucky, 96% of the population isn't out to get you. If you only have one solution to a problem - you're not trying.
