With the moon, we probably wouldn't notice the difference too much. Mars, and the outer planets however, are much easier to see at perigee. Smiley

This shot was taken through the prime focus of an 8 inch Meade LX200ACF. The magnification factor is roughly 50X, and that shot was at a speed of 1/400 of a second. My camera uses an APC size sensor, so the image is larger than you would see with a standard 35mm frame. It also eliminates the vinaigretting that you would get with a full size sensor. I think the telescope's collimnation is slightly off, but I was dodging clouds last night and didn't want to get stuck in the middle of an adjustment and lose my star. Shocked Smiley
