Just watching the news, a terrible tragedy. Cry This quake was the seventh strongest in world history.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of those who were affected by this disaster.

Yeah.  I've been praying too.  I have friends in Hawaii who've lost their homes.  It's good to know that prayers are going out for the victims of this disaster all over the globe!  Smiley

I saw the notice up on the library home page, great idea Deb. I've always used Red Cross but Shelterbox seems to be a worthwhile organazation as well.

That suggestion was made on another board and since I have a perfectly good soapbox to stand on...

We who have so much sometimes forget how ephemeral it all is.

We who are getting older don't. I sit and look around my apartment and realize how fortunate I am, wonder how many years I have left.
I watched the earthquake live on a Korean tv station my husband and I really enjoy. KBS (Korean broadcasting )does English subtitles. God, just swallowing those cars and boats up like that. Yuchtar was saying on another list that a full moon is coming out, has the effect on the tides, maybe they're in for more quakes or aftershocks. The nuclear plant crisis, too. Mother nature is so damn powerful.
That was great, putting the link to places that can help.
In that same vein, my husband and I like this http://www.freerice.com/
Charity and improving your vocabulary. My husband always beats me. Smiley  It's a legit site.
