I think it would be really great if you ever got the time, or opportunity, to write a brief  explanation of exactly how and why you set out to write a UFO novel. What it involved and particularly how you set about the process of trying to get it published.

  As we are all 'aspiring' writers..... not necessarily UFO novels.. (but wouldn't that be wonderful!) your contribution would be much appreciated!
I am sure there are many other fanfiction writers out there who would love some guidance as well!

Could you get to the convention for just one day? transport -wise I mean? I need to know.

Transport isn't a problem; I have my own car. The Problem is being able to justify the cost;
  I'd have to register which would be two weeks' worth of Jobseekers' Allowance, which is my sole income at the moment.
On top of that, Bristol and back in a day would be a killer - you'd be looking at 3 hours' driving each way, so I'd have to be looking at Accommodation charges on top of the Registration and fuel costs. I'd be lucky to have change from £200. With my son needing new school uniform, it's money I just cannot spare

Hi Guina,

Two questions concerning the challenge, does the scene at the bar have to occur at the end of the story, or can it be anywhere?

Secondly, can the words of the poem be modified so one could place a woman in the lead role? i.e. dancing guy vs dancing gal.

Thanks, Matt Smiley

Hi Matt,

yes, of course you can reverse the genders. That's no problem (I'm sure Chris de Burgh wouldn't mind Grin)!

But the bar scene should be the final scene of the story, its culmination so to speak.

I am well and truly stuffed. there I am trying to write a dark, violent torture scene with appropriate swear words and at the momment if i write 'f*^k' it will post as crappity smack.
Hysterical!! I can see Ed Straker saying 'crappity smack off ' to some hooded torturer!!!
I shall have to tone the whole thing down.... torture by ticklling? baddies shooting people with splat guns?

I can't do a NfanFIc story under these constraints!!

sniggering !
